G.A.T.E.WAYS aims to cater for children who are in the highly able to gifted range. This approximates to the top 10 – 15% of children in the classroom. Programs are delivered at a faster pace than in the regular classroom, and are pitched around two years ahead of chronological age.
SCG hosts the G.A.T.E.WAYS Eureka program for two days each term in Terms 1, 2 and 3. Students from numerous schools in the region nominate and send students to attend the SCG program. Each term there is a different focus which might include Maths, Problem Solving, Logic and Strategy activities, Science and Creative Writing.
Our students enjoy the opportunity of attending many of the G.A.T.E.WAYS programs each year as well as participating in the G.A.T.E.WAYS Brainwaves Club, G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge and various on-location programs to further ignite their learning passions.
